Nordex Introduces Twitter Social Networking
for Customer and Supplier Collaboration
Customer participation via an interactive web is the paradigm shift of the decade
Camarillo, California (USA)
, June 1, 2009-Nordex Advanced Technology, Inc., a leading provider of CD/DVD media manufacturing, is now offering Twitter as a state-of-the-art networking forum for customers and suppliers that blog in the world of disc media. If you haven't heard about Twitter yet it is a hot new start up that is an innovative social media network allowing you to give updates in the form of 140 character sentences about any news you want to share to the world. This 'micro-blogging' service allows you to stay connected between all your friends, family, and any other relationships instantaneously. Twitter can simply be used to notify your friends of an upcoming music concert or movie screening or maybe just post something to let everyone know what you just had for lunch at a new bistro. It is also a great tool for announcing any important news you think people need to know about.
Through such devices we engage for fun or business, to entertain, gather information or just induce collaboration. "The customer created content of blogs, wikis, and interactive forums are quickly becoming a new conduit in society and the business world is benefiting from the efficiencies never seen before," says Phil Dumbrille, director of sales and marketing at Nordex. "This is signaling the 'rise of the virtual marketplace' in social media."
Many people at work rely heavily on Twitter, gathering helpful business intelligence from, and setting up meetings with, business contacts. This social media is used a lot to form 'tweetups' or meetings where fellow Twitter users spontaneously gather. Twitter is also used as a network to re-tweet, or spread a message through users' individual networks, thereby creating local viral campaigns wherever one is visiting. By meeting just one person, you can reach thousands of people. Even one re-tweet can be really powerful in business terms.
Reported on CNN, June 20, 2009: A plane carrying California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger made a steep emergency landing after the cockpit filled with smoke, his office said in a statement. Schwarzenegger confirmed the incident with a tweet on the social-networking Web site, Twitter. A rep for the governor says the pilot made "a quick, steep, but safe landing," and no one was injured. "A little adventure just now when my plane made an emergency landing. All's ok, though," Schwarzenegger tweeted, posting a picture of the jet, too.
